The film, based on Carlo Collodi’s book “Pinocchio” (1883), got an Oscar nomination this year for its costumes, make up and hairstyle. Pinocchio’s father is played by the Italian actor Roberto Benigni, who is best known for his role in “Life Is Beautiful” (1997), which was shown in China last year and reached 8.24 million US dollars.
